| Away for three years. Much has happened in this time. The time has arrived to restart the No Flour No Sugar process. Stay tuned, here, for more info. | | |
| Day 164 / 54 / 1 W = 251 BF = 38 (Morning)
I had two Snickers bars yesterday. New job, and I didn't take any low carb snacks with me. Looks like I'll make the same mistake today because I didn't get by a store to buy any low carb snacks. Sigh.
Good news. I exercised last night, for the first time since August. I think that, between that & the Starch Blockers, is why my weight is down a little.
| Day 157 / 54 / 2 W = 252.5 BF = 37 (Bedtime)
I'm back. I'm restarted. Travel was a diet disaster. Again. I don't have any answers, and I don't pretend to... ...ideas and suggestions appreciated, please post as followup here or on discussion board at www.noflournosugar.com.
157 Days since I started this process (March 30th of this year). 54 days is the longest I've had of continuous time without flour and sugar. Today is Day 2 of my restart.
I am trying a Starch Blocker, and plan to integrate White Kidney Beans into my diet. See, also, http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/search?ActiveCat=499&Query=starch+blocker This doesn't seem to help much if I eat flour and sugar, but it seems like it might help if I don't. (Absorbs any carbs from beans, rice, & starchy veggies. Thus, I get needed protein & vitamins with greatly reduced carbs.)
| Day 130 / 54 / 6 W = 251 BF = 41 (Morning)
If you read my other weblog, then you know that I relapsed on Flour & Sugar about a week ago. That's the bad news. Even worse, the consequence was a "rebound effect" that shot my weight up to 260 lb., the most I've weighed in my life.
Since restarting on the "No Flour, No Sugar" path, I've "kept my data" the last few days. Just keeping it helps me to eat less and avoid unnecessary calories/carbs/fat, and I've had a mean (average) daily caloric intake of 2060 with average grams of carbs of 180. The net result, as of today, is that I'm at 251.
I believe that if I can persist, staying at, or below, 2060/180, that I can continue to lose weight for "a while." I know that I'll eventually plateau, and then I'll have to adjust the calories/carbs downward again.
But, that's part of the "stairstepping" process where the weight loss occurs in steps. That's the plan outlined at the info site, right? Now, I just have to do it....

Day 115 / 54 / 20 W = 257.0 BF = 34 (Bedtime)
Nothing dramatic to say, other than still "No Flour, No Sugar." I'm a bit disheartened by both (a) my "rebound" and (b) my current lack of progress. But, I plan to persist....
